Let’s test the water! The Hamilton Harbour watershed has many streams, rivers, and creeks that eventually make their way into the Harbour. Water quality upstream can impact the health of our Harbour.
In this program, students learn about local water quality, engage in the scientific process, and use scientific tools to test water quality. This program brings fieldwork into the classroom and allows students to work through real world environmental issues.
The program includes sampling of a nearby waterway (if they are within walking distance). If there are no accessible waterways nearby, we will bring in water samples for testing.
This program can be adapted to best meet the learning objectives of your classroom. Please discuss with our Education and Outreach Coordinator to see how Water School can come to you!
