Macassa Bay is a sheltered area in the Harbour. The boats that dock at Macassa Bay Marina are protected from wind and waves. Sheltered bays such as Macassa are the best areas to find underwater plants that provide homes for fish and insects, and food for wildlife. Macassa Bay is considered some of the best fish habitat in Hamilton Harbour. Also, this area is home to the Macassa Bay Yacht Club, which opened in 1962.
