Glory Days at Wabasso

In the early years of the 20th century, Wabasso Park was the place to be on a hot summer day. The park featured acres of picnic grounds, amusement rides and a community pavilion (built in 1917) that hosted countless events and dances. Visitors from all over the Harbour and nearby cities arrived by ferry/steamer – and later by car- to enjoy the park. The SS Hamiltonian transported visitors daily from the south shore of Hamilton to the park.
